Nook Notes is a private reflection app offered by DevPanda (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains how Nook Notes handles information.
Your reflections
Mood check-ins, tiny wins, journal entries, custom tags, reminder settings, app-lock settings, and selected themes are stored in protected storage on your device. We do not operate an analytics or crash-reporting service that receives this content, and we do not send this content to the advertising provider.
If you enable Private iCloud Sync, Nook Notes stores a mergeable snapshot in your private Apple CloudKit database so that your devices can sync. Sync is off by default. Turning sync off stops future synchronization but does not delete the existing copy from iCloud. Apple handles CloudKit under Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
When you export entries, Nook Notes includes only the entries you select and presents Apple’s system share sheet. The destination you choose handles the exported file under its own privacy terms.
Advertising
Ads can appear only in the optional Theme Gallery. There are no ads on check-in, writing, journal timeline, weekly chart, app lock, settings, or export screens.
Nook Notes uses Google Mobile Ads and Google’s User Messaging Platform. Depending on your region, consent choices, and device settings, these services may process coarse location derived from IP address, device identifiers, advertising data, product interaction, crash data, performance data, and other diagnostic data for advertising, analytics, consent, fraud prevention, and service operation.
Where required, Nook Notes asks for advertising consent through Google’s User Messaging Platform and exposes privacy options from Settings. The choices shown depend on availability and regional requirements.
After any required consent flow, Nook Notes may ask for permission to use Apple’s advertising identifier for ad personalization and measurement. This request appears only after you choose to open Theme Gallery. If you decline, Theme Gallery remains usable and ads may still be served without Apple’s advertising identifier.
Purchases
Private Nook is a one-time non-consumable purchase processed by Apple. Apple handles payment and transaction information. Nook Notes uses StoreKit transaction status only to remove Theme Gallery ads and unlock all themes plus unlimited custom tags.
Reminders and app lock
Optional reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Optional app lock uses Apple’s LocalAuthentication APIs where available. Biometric templates are handled by the operating system and are not available to Nook Notes.
Retention and deletion
You can delete entries in Nook Notes. Deletion tombstones are included in the private iCloud snapshot when sync is enabled so that older devices do not restore deleted entries. You can remove the app and its local data through iOS.
To remove the app’s private iCloud data, use the iCloud storage controls in Apple Settings or contact support for help locating the applicable Apple account controls.
Children and supported regions
Nook Notes is not made specifically for children. Version 1.0 is offered only in the United States.
Changes
We may update this policy as Nook Notes or its service providers change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
